"A Dog of Flanders" is an 1872 novel by English author Marie Louise de la Ramée about a Flemish boy named Nello, a poor orphan with tremendous artistic talent and his faithful dog Patrasche. The classic tale spawned several adaptations, most notably a very popular Japanese anime series as well a few Hollywood films. I remember seeing the 1959 version on television as a kid and crying my eyes out. My thanks again to the Ceramic Art Studio and Shop.
