Adiyogi

"The Adiyogi (first yogi)" - based on the Shiva statue in Rishikesh, India. To my Indian friends, this is not meant to be the divine personification of Lord Shiva, but inspired by Shiva as the Adiyogi that put the seed of meditation into the human mind. My thanks again to the Ceramic Art Studio and Shop.

Lotus Flower Box 2

Nelumbo nucifera, also known as Indian lotus, sacred lotus, bean of India, Egyptian bean or simply lotus, is one of two extant species of aquatic plant in the family Nelumbonaceae. The sacred Lotus is an important symbol in Hindiusm and Buddhism as it represents perfection rising from above the mud. My thanks again to the Ceramic Art Studio and Shop.

Siberian Ice Maiden

The Siberian Ice Maiden, also known as the Princess of Ukok (Russian: Принце́сса Уко́ка), the Altai Princess (Russian: Алтайская принцесса), Devochka and Ochy-bala (Russian: Очы-бала, the heroine of the Altaic epic), is a mummy of a woman from the 5th century BC, found in 1993 in a kurgan of the Pazyryk culture in Republic of Altai, Russia. My thanks again to the Ceramic Art Studio and Shop.

Pegasus 3

In Greek mythology, Pegasus was sired by Poseidon and sprang from the gorgon Medusa's blood upon being decapitated by Perseus. The loyal Pegasus carried thunderbolts from Olympus to Zeus until he was tamed by Bellerophon and assisted the hero in slaying the Chimera. Like dragons, mythological winged or flying horses are also present in other cultures: Buraq in Islam, Chollima in Korea, Tianma in China, and the steed of the Norse Valkyries. I think the concept of flying horses were naturally to early man what our vision is today for flying cars. Artistically, this majestic creature evokes beauty, strength, and freedom. This is actually my third version. Version 2.0 here. My thanks again to the Ceramic Art Studio and Shop.
